Paper Friction Materials

Brake and clutch performance depends on the friction material used. The right friction material makes all the difference in the effectiveness and ultimately the success of your application.

GMP Friction Products now offers a line of paper friction materials that can meet your wet friction material needs. Our new paper materials are manufactured by traditional paper-making methods and offer higher, more stable coefficients of friction along with excellent energy capacity. We have a variety of formulations available to offer customized characteristics for different applications.

Our new paper friction materials can be used in both brake plates and clutch plates. They are well-suited to use in wet clutches, wet wheel brakes, power take-off clutches, powershift transmissions, and transmissions. While they cannot substitute for other friction materials in all applications, paper friction materials can be more affordable and less abrasive to mating components in some clutches and brake parts.
